Nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi believes the current MotoGP era is the most boring time since its inception and series bosses must change the product to stop people switching off.

The Doctor says the racing in Moto2 and Moto3 is fantastic but by the time spectators get round to the premier class, they find it difficult to stay awake.

"My personal feeling is they have to change a lot for the future. Now is the worst moment of MotoGP from 2000, from when I was in MotoGP. This is the most boring moment because races are quite bad," said Rossi.

"You look at Moto3, is very exciting, Moto2 is fantastic like this then they arrive at MotoGP and is very difficult to stay awake. So they have to change a bit the product. The level is fantastic and the bike is very fast, the rider is very fast but are too perfect."

Rossi believes that more youngsters should be coming into the blue riband class and names Scott Redding among his hopes for the future as he says they know how to have fun.

"For me, there is a few young guns from Moto2, especially Marquez who is very fast but also Iannone and Redding who are fast riders but also having fun."
