Returning Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi has said his first goal of the 2013 season is to stand on the podium and only then will he think about winning races.

The nine-time world champion, who is back with the Japanese maufacturer after two terrible years with Ducati, hasn't won a race since 2010 and has only been on the podium twice since his defection away from Yamaha.

"I think the Yamaha Factory Team will be very strong this year with myself and Jorge. For me at this moment I have to be a little quiet and try to understand what my level is with the bike after the first test. My last Grand Prix victory was in 2010 so my first goal is to come back onto the podium as soon as possible, and to try to win a race," said Rossi, speaking at a knees-up in Jakarta.
