Redline KTM's Tarran Mackenzie eased to the Monster Energy Motostar victory this afternoon at Brands Hatch, with SP125's Tom Carne the first 125 home by just 0.004 of a second.

The first attempt at the race was quickly red flagged after a mass pile up at Graham Hill Bend due to oil on the track, but at the re-start it was Mackenzie who took the holeshot. He came under pressure from WD40 Racing's Joe Francis, but the wee Scotsman's KTM was too strong and he eased home the victor, 1.285 seconds clear of Francis.

The 125 race was more closely fought, with South African Jordan Weaving swapping for the lead with Tom Carne on multiple occasions. As the duo came into the final sector of the track on the last lap it was Carne in front. Weaving exited the last corner of Clearways the better and got tucked in behind Carne and pulled out of his slipstream, seemingly edging ahead. The two were side by side as they crossed the line but it was Carne who took the victory, just four thousandths of a second ahead.

RS Racing's Joe Irving ended up third in the Moto3 category and in the overall race, after a good start. Bank's Racing's clinched third in the 125 category on his return to the class, fighting off fellow 125 rider Arnie Shelton for the final podium spot. Australian Olly Simpson had to start from pit lane but came through the pack to get a commendable eighth place. History maker Catherine Green ended ninth and Callum Bey rounded out the top ten.
