Martin and Cummins Ready to Shine at Southern 100 opener tonight

This year’s Steam Packet sponsored Southern 100, dubbed the ‘Friendly Races’ gets underway this evening in the Isle of Man with the Senior Solo Founders race [8pm], where riders will compete over eight laps of the 4.25-mile Billown course in the south of the island.

Tyco Suzuki riders Guy Martin and Manxman Conor Cummins enjoyed a successful opening practice session on the Billown circuit last night [Monday]. Martin was fastest in the opening Superbike session on his GSX-R1000 with Cummins fourth. Martin also topped the first Supersport session with his Manx team-mate second, leaving both men prepared for battle later this evening in the 8-lap Senior Solo Founders race at 8pm.

Tuesday 10th July

Senior Solo Founders [8 laps] at 8pm followed by Sidecar Race (6 laps)

Wednesday 11th July

Senior Race [8 laps] at 6.20pm followed by 250cc/650cc Race 1 (8 laps); 600 Race 1 (8 laps) and Junior Solo Founders 125cc/400cc/450cc Race 1 (6 laps)

Thursday 12th July

600cc Race 2 (8 laps) starting at 10.20am followed by 250cc/650cc Race 2 (8 laps) at 1.20pm, followed by125cc/400cc/450cc Race 2 (6 laps); Solo Championship (9 laps) and finally the Sidecar Championship (8 laps)
