Tyco Suzuki rider Guy Martin showed no signs of any winter blues – despite not having ridden competitively for six months – when he won the Ian Watson Spring Cup earlier today at Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough.

Martin won the opening leg from his pole position spot by some 11 seconds and was five seconds to the good on his GSX-R1000 Superbike in the second leg when it was red flagged. Martin also recorded the pole time in the Junior 600 class on his GSX-R600.

The Lincolnshire man went on to win both Junior 600 races, which now sets him up perfectly for next weekend’s Cookstown 100 in Northern Ireland. He added fastest laps in all four of today’s races to complete a very successful opening event on the road racing calendar for Tyco Suzuki.

Martin said: “I’ve only ever competed in the Spring Cup once before but I love the Scarborough Circuit and I think I even surprised myself today. Everything worked perfectly for us and to come away with a one hundred percent record is very satisfying. Next up is Cookstown.”

Visordown and AGV are teaming up ahead of the Isle of Man TT to offer you a chance to win a specially signed replica AGV K3, to enter simply complete the form here
