Factory Yamaha's Valentino Rossi will continue to work on the balance and weight distribution on his YZR-M1 at this weekend's MotoGP round, a circuit where he was second only to Britain's Cal Crutchlow in testing.

The Doctor made a hefty alteration to the setup in morning warm-up at Austin and then again for the race, but it proved a step too far and he said at the Texas track he needs to find a setting that is somewhere between his own and Crutchlow's in order to get the feel he needs from the front Bridgestone.

”Jerez will be a very important race. I believe and hope that we can be very fast as we have been in testing. We will have to work well and aim for the podium. We still have something to do, especially for the set up of the bike but we have some ideas," said Rossi.

"Furthermore on Monday after the race we will be testing there and we'll have the opportunity to try different things. Jerez, Le Mans and Mugello are all circuits that are favourable to us and where we will be fine.”
