Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi spent yesterday tweaking the weight distribution of his YZR-M1 and also tried some changes to the wheelbase but didn’t use the new forks used by team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.

The Doctor said he had found an improvement with the feeling of the bike and also managed to lower his laptime over a single time attack and a longer run.

“During the weekend we suffer a lot with the setting, with the front and also in the race, I wasn’t able to use the maximum. So we work very much under this point of view as we improve the laptime, improve the pace, the feeling with the bike and also the time attack,” said Rossi, speaking at the track.

“We also try some different stuff for Yamaha, just some small details. I didn’t try the fork that Jorge try, we concentrate on weight distribution and a different setting but with the same material. With the weight distribution, we try something bigger with the chassis, we move the wheels.”
