Factory Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo will finally get to race the new seamless-shift gearbox at this weekend's Misano MotoGP round.

The system, which they have tested twice, will be similar to that used by Honda and Ducati and although Rossi believes it will help over the course of race distance, it isn't a magic bullet for a fast lap times.

"Yes, we will try the new gearbox tomorrow. We are so happy. It is very good for the rider and will be a big help. Here at Misano you use a lot the gearbox and hopefully it will help to try and fight with the Hondas," said Rossi, speaking at Misano.

"Sincerely, when we test it it is more for the riding than for the real special lap time. I don't think the seamless will give to us half a second a lap but I think is a big help over the race distance to bring the bike to the limit."
