Romano Fenati (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5) put up a thrilling comeback during the Moto3 race in Mugello, won by Salom ahead of Rins and Viñales. The Italian climbed back from 20th to 8th place. A normal race collision with Binder, who clipped his rear tire, stopped his progression, but the confidence of being able to compete at the top remains.

Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4) faced an uphill race from 32nd position despite finding some improvements during WUP. The rookie cut the gap on the pace by over a second, but the narrow rankings did not allow him to do better than 24th place, missing the Top 15 by only two seconds.

"It was an unlucky race, spoiled by a normal contact. I could have ended in the Top 10 as I was lapping with the same pace as the leaders. Now we head to Barcelona, another track that I really enjoy and where I want to give my best. The team worked well to find the right setup. I want to dedicate my high-side to Irene Paumgardhen, who made me understand there's always a reason not to give up."

"Unfortunately I chose the wrong tire spec, mounting a medium instead of a hard one. I still improved since practice and I'm getting used, race after race, to the competitiveness of a world championship. I'm more mature and can surely take this experience to Barcelona, which is my home race."

Roberto Locatelli (FMI Technical Coordinator)

"It's always difficult to come back when you start from the back. Fenati was doing well, it's a shame he crashed out. But the race gave good signs to both our riders, who improved their pace by over a second. We need to make those steps ahead since Friday. We will test here in Mugello on Tuesday to be ready for the next race in Spain."
