Romano Fenati is seventh and first among Italians, Francesco Bagnaia 20th but penalized by a collision while he was fighting for points.

During the Moto3 race in Le Mans, Romano Fenati (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5) fought in the second group after a good start from 11th position. A gritty seventh for the Italian who, despite running wide during the race, beat Binder under the checkered flag and was first among the Honda-FTR riders.

Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4) confirmed the progress shown throughout the weekend, coming back from the 28th place on the grid and fighting for points before being touched by Frenchman Danilo and losing contact with the group. He closed in 20th position, with a greatly improved race pace that leaves him hopeful ahead of the home GP in Mugello.

Romano Fenati (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5), 7th, 42'48.773

"It was a good race. Unfortunately I went wide because, while trying to pass McPhee who was slower, I rushed things a little too much. After that I was able to come back, and the feeling on the bike was good. I'm happy with the bike and the work done with the team. Now we head to Mugello, where we'll try our best to go back on the podium."

Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4), 20th, 43'33.608

"I was fighting for a Top 15 finish when Danilo touched me and made me lose time. It's a shame, because the track was drying up and my feeling was good. Finally I did a good race, with a strong pace from early on. In Mugello we'll start from this base to make another step forward. I'm really happy overall."

Roberto Locatelli (FMI Technical Coordinator)

"The weather made for a difficult race. The track was damp and it was easy to make mistakes. Romano was strong and could have finished in the Top 5 if he didn't make that small mistake, from which he recovered strongly. Pecco also made a huge step forward, lapping closer to Fenati. The contact with Danilo prevented him from taking points. Both riders are improving and we'll surely be ready for Mugello."
