Romano Fenati (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5) comes to Le Mans as the only Italian with points in the championship. After a strong comeback in Jerez, where he was ninth, he is ready to redeem himself on the French track where last year he crashed.
Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4) was hindered by a tire issue in Spain but is ready to confirm the progress made during the last race, where he finally found the right setup on his Honda-FTR, getting closer to the lap times of his teammate.
Roberto Locatelli (FMI Technical Coordinator)
"We are hoping first of all for decent weather in Le Mans as we'd like to find conditions in which we can work regularly throughout the week-end. Fenati fought hard in Jerez, where he could have been fifth. I think of him as one of the best young riders out there for style and speed, and I'm awaiting confirmation in Le Mans. I hope Pecco doesn't have any more technical issues. In Spain he lapped closer to Romano, and now he just needs to score points to gain confidence."
