Alex Rins won the Moto3 race in Australia beating Maverick Viñales and Luis Salom on the finish line. Despite the constant progress shown throughout the week-end, San Carlo Team Italia FMI riders suffered technical problems while fighting in the second group. Romano Fenati (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5) tried his best to finish in 14th position. Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4) was forced to retire.

"In the first few laps I managed to regain some positions, but I had an issue with the gearbox and wheelied, getting sucked back into the traffic. From then on I kept fighting, trying to score the best possible result, otherwise I think I could have stayed with the frontrunners. Thankfully we have a rematch scheduled right away."

Francesco Bagnaia (San Carlo Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#4) NC

"Bad luck keeps striking me. I was faster each day, but some issues prevented me from scoring the best possible result. In the race I was doing well, climbing my way back and sticking with Romano, but then my bike turned off. I hope this bad streak will end in Japan."

Roberto Locatelli (FMI Technical Coordinator)

"It's been a tough day, during which we didn't really reap what we sowed. Romano had some front grip issues but could have made his way back if it wasn't for bad luck. Same thing with Pecco, who had found a good pace. We're eager to get back on track in Japan, but in the meantime I want to congratulate our Stk600 cousins for winning the title with Franco Morbidelli".
