"Wish you were here": as has been tradition in Italian grands prix since 2008, Valentino Rossi last year too raced with a special edition helmet in the san Marino grand prix at Misano Adriatico dedicated to Marco Simoncelli. On that occasion, the theme was dedicated to his friend sic with an image of the cover of the legendary Pink Floyd album “wish you were here”.

Aldo Drudi (designer) describes the helmet: “this year's idea is very simple: the album cover dominates the crown of the helmet. Two robotic hands unite the four elements in the background" (earth, fire, water, and air).
The reference to his friend and colleague Marco Simoncelli is clear: “how I wish, how I wish you were here”.

On the neck roll at the back of the helmet, the Pink Floyd album cult cover shows two men shaking hands in front of a factory with one of the men in flames.

Valentino Rossi's dedication is very closely linked to the musical meaning of the images on the helmet. Wish you were here is an album about the absence of man, sad and lost in what Gilmour and waters define as the "society of machines”. There is no doubt that the absence of Marco Simoncelli has been felt even more strongly at his "home track" which was in fact named after him a few months after his tragic death

The fans' long wait for a “wish” replica will end in September and the helmet will be available in the Corsa line in limited Edition.

The utmost in racing technology will cost just £799 (SRP).

This limited edition reproduces the graphics On Valentino's race helmet except for the text “wish you were here” and visor components / accessories. The M of the monster energy logo is shown with his stylised flames on the chin guard and sides of the helmet.

The Corsa model combines the performance of the Pista GP with the characteristics needed for use on the road.

The Corsa has a carbon-fibre/glass-fibre/aramid fibre ssl (super super Light) shell which was designed using fem techniques and Features EPS internal ducts to create a small, light helmet Which is both comfortable and extremely safe. The result is a helmet that is significantly superior to the limits set by ECE Standards and that weighs just 1350g* (+/- 50 g) in MS size (the weight refers to the ECE 2205 version) Unlike the Pista GP, the Corsa comes with a system for opening And closing the air vents which makes it a less extreme, more versatile helmet. The entire ventilation system was designed Using computational fluid dynamics studies and wind tunnel tests.

This helmet is highly efficient at removing heat and moisture from the rider's head. Thanks to its large rear spoiler, the Corsa boasts unparalleled performance as in terms of aerodynamic penetration and high speed stability. Overall, the visor area is 9% bigger meaning a 15° improvement in vision which obviously enhances the active safety factor.

The fit of the Corsa was developed using the new “human Engineering” process with which design starts from the surfaces in contact with the wearer's head. The padding inside the helmet starts with a concave 3D structure that is pre-shaped to match the contours of the rider's head and any surfaces in contact with the head are stitch-free.

The Lycra® and Shalimar® sanitised internal components are fully adjustable due to the fact that the position and depth of the crown pad can be modified as can the thickness of the cheek pads. The combination of these solutions, which are covered by Three separate patents, make the Corsa fit different shapes of skull as never before.

Extreme standards helmets is the name of the Revolutionary new range of AGV helmets which Includes the Corsa. It is based on the “human engineering” concept and applies to a new design process which starts from the components that are in direct contact with the head and gradually progresses to the outer shell. As a result, the structural shapes imitate the area of contact thus providing greater safety and smaller dimensions.
