Buildbase BMW’s Jon Kirkham had his best MCE British Superbike weekend of the season so far at Oulton Park with a pair of fighting fourths at a circuit where he knocked himself out last year and spent the rest of 2012 recovering.

The Derbyshire rider consolidated his fifth place in the championship stakes and remains a title fighter but team-mate James Westmoreland got tangled up with Peter Hickman at Old Hall on the first lap but walked away without injury.

"I'm thrilled with today's result. Things are moving in the right direction and we're improving all the time. The BMW S 1000 RR is performing better than ever, and with a little refinement I think we will be targeting the podium very soon,” said Kirkham.
