Stauff Connect’s Tarran Mackenzie braved the damp track conditions to top the Dickies British Supersport free practice timesheets at Oulton Park today.

The diminutive racer lapped a 1’41.066 onboard his Kawasaki but was only one tenth faster than Tsingtao MV Agusta’s Jake Dixon. The Dover-based rider kept pushing up the timing-screens throughout the whole outing and ended the day P2 with a 1’41.156.

Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki’s Andy Reid left it quite late to make his mark on the sheets but soon made up for lost time and soared up to third with minutes remaining, but he only missed out on P2 by the smallest of margins, only 0.01s.

Came BPT Yamaha’s James Westmoreland was the fastest rider in the opening session in much colder conditions, with a 1’57.016, but even though he went eleven seconds quicker in FP2 he still could not manage to take the fastest rider accolade, and finished the afternoon fourth. Irwin, Allingham, Jones, Paulo, Coventry and Daley completed the top ten.
