Gautier Paulin and AGV - undisputed stars of the fifth round of the MX1 series and now on the second place of the provisional standings. The French rider competing as always with his AGV AX-8 Evo helmet, won the Grand Prix of Bulgaria with a splendid performance that started from his supremacy during the Saturday qualifying sessions. In Race 1 the works Kawasaki rider started from the front and led all the way while in Race 2, after another pole position start, the only rider to pass him was the leader Antonio Cairoli. Paulin's second place gave him his second consecutive overall victory at Sevlievo and the third win of his career in the premier class.

David Philippaerts, Honda Gariboldi's new signing, was also very much on show and finally had a problem-free GP to come home in eighth place. The Scottish TM rider Shaun Simpson finished twelfth again due to a lack of feel with the Bulgarian track. Ivo Monticelli started eighth after qualifying well but starting from the rear left him unable to do any better than fifteenth place in the MX2.

The next round will be on 5 May at the Agueda track in Portugal.
