Although Valentino Rossi has never actually said that he hopes it rains for every single remaining round of the MotoGP championship, his hints that he would prefer wet races over dry are becoming stronger.

Although Valentino Rossi has never actually said that he hopes it rains for every single remaining round of the MotoGP championship, his hints that he would prefer wet races over dry are becoming stronger.

The Doctor had a disaster at Silverstone, passed by a man with a broken leg on a satellite Yamaha, and says he hopes that if it stays dry at Assen this weekend, he can return to the performance level he found at Barcelona where the Italian finished seventh and 18s in arrears.

“We’ll try to start off with a good feeling with the track in order to improve our results a bit. For the moment, we can only work on the setup to prepare the bike as we try to return to the level that we had attained prior to Silverstone, which was a very difficult race," said Rossi.

"We were a bit better at Barcelona and during the dry sessions at Le Mans, so we must at least regain that pace. If it should also happen to rain, we know that we can be more competitive.”
