Rossi to try more chassis parts at Mugello test

Ducati's Valentino Rossi is not sure whether he will have a new engine to try at the upcoming Mugello test but said today at the Sachsenring MotoGP round there will be some new chassis parts to evaluate.

Although he wouldn't be drawn on the details, Rossi says they are part of plan cooked up between himself and technical director Filippo Preziosi after the Italian said at Assen that a strategy for the second half of the season is what was required.

"I have spoken more deeply and we have something in Ducati working and I have some ideas, not just for the engine, but also for improve the chassis and the rideability of the bike and something will arrive before Laguna in the test at Mugello, something different and something else after the break, more in August," said The Doctor, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"The Mugello test is important to see if it the right way to follow. I am not sure if the new engine is ready for Mugello test. It is not a chassis modification, we have some part for the bike with a different shape and weight distribution, and is the first step also for understand the way to follow next year.

"It looks like we have a plan for a future and the second part of the season, and we hope we can improve. I am never fast enough with this bike, except in the rain, so we have to fix this thing and improve our performance. Until that point, unfortunately, we aren't able to make an improvement but we have a plan for try."
