Bournemouth's James Hillier has taken his debut Isle of Man TT win this morning, taking a decisive victory in the bikesocial.co.uk Lightweight race and smashing the lap record with a 119.130mph on his final circuit.

Bournemouth's James Hillier has taken his debut Isle of Man TT win this morning, taking a decisive victory in the bikesocial.co.uk Lightweight race and smashing the lap record with a 119.130mph on his final circuit.

The Kawsaki man, who has started at number one all week, only surrendered his lead on the second lap when pitstops put Ivan Lintin into top spot but Hillier made made back a 14-second deficit at Glen Helen by the Grandstand on lap two and finished with a 33-second lead over Dean Harrison.

Harrison took second place from Lintin on lap three and he was also passed by Conor Cummins by Glen Helen on lap three with Manxman taking his first podium of the 2013 TT race week and his father Billy also finished the race.

Lintin, meanwhile, ended in fourth place with KMR Kawasaki youngster Jamie Hamilton in fifth. Michael Rutter ended in sixth, Cameron Donald seventh, Chris Palmer eighth, Lee Johnston ninth and Ian Lougher tenth.

Both Michael Dunlop and John McGuinness were non-starters, the Honda Legends pair preferring to concentrate on this afternoon's Senior TT while David Madsen Mygdal completed his 100th TT.
