Team Appleyard Macadam Racing secured another top five finish through Graeme Gowland this weekend at Donington Park.

Torrential rain throughout Friday meant the Supersport rider went into qualifying without a setup he was confident with. However, Northumbrian Gowland secured a front row grid position with his last lap.

Gowland started well from the front row, quickly involving himself in a battle for the podium. The former Spanish Supersport champion was quickly dropped to fifth place, however, and couldn't recover before the chequered flag came out. Sunday's feature race saw Gowland struggle due to gearing issues, only managing sixth place.

Graeme Gowland: "It was a hard weekend after losing dry track time on the Friday, which obviously meant we couldn't set the bike up for qualifying the next day. Qualifying on the front row is always good but we didn't have the race pace to compete at the front. That was the same for both of the races across the weekend. However, it's two more solid results for the Appleyard Macadam Doodson squad and we move on to Assen, a circuit that I feel will suit me better, and try push for another podium."

Robin Appleyard, Team Manager: "It was a frustrating weekend to a certain degree. We had brought some extra personnel in order to assist with finding the right setup. However, setup was the key issue this weekend, as we were just off of the pace. All in all it's another solid weekend and I'm sure it's a matter of time before Graeme jumps back on to the podium."
