Nocco and Morbidelli put up a solid performance in tricky conditions.

It was a brave and mature race for the riders after the start delay.

Alessandro Nocco showed his determination with a strong come back from 14th place on the grid. After showing his prowess in similar conditions on Friday, he climbed back to 6th place, finishing just four seconds behind the winner Morrentino.

Franco Morbidelli was unlucky after gaining the lead during lap one fighting against poleman Savadori. The Italian, also due to the slippery track, was sucked back into the group and fought back to finish sixth.

Cristiano Migliorati (FMI Technical Coordinator)

"I was hoping for a podium, but given the conditions during the race this result is satisfactory. The weather influenced the beginning of this championship, and Monza was a lottery as well. The riders showed great talent and maturity despite the changing conditions between practice and race. One third of the season is down, we will try to improve in a month in Portimao."

Supersport World Championship

Riccardo Russo will start from second row tomorrow. The rider of the Puccetti Racing Kawasaki team posted the sixth best time with a 1'49"058, 1.1 seconds behind poleman Lowes, but his race pace shown during free practice and qualifiers leaves him hopeful ahead of the race.
