Franco Morbidelli shone in the Stk600 season opener in Aragon. After a problem at the start that saw his drop from 6th to 24th, the Italian charged his way back with overtakes and fast laps. After passing Gamarrino on lap 6, he defended his position as the gap from the front was unbridgeable but strengthened his candidacy for the next races.

His teammate Alessandro Nocco also put up a fight against Vitali and D'Annunzio for the Top 15 (he was 17th on the grid), but fell short of his goal after being passed by Jones at the end and finished in 15th position.

Franco Morbidelli (San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaky ZX-6R#12) 6° a 5"488

"I had an issue with first gear before the start and the bike stalled. It was a fun race, full of overtakes. My pace would have been strong enough to fight for the podium. We head to Assen with confidence as I could have been a protagonist today". (download HD photo )

Alessandro Nocco (San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaky ZX-6R#81) 16° a 31"743

"I suffered some issues with the forks since free practice and I couldn't have confidence on the front. I'm still happy about my debut in the European championship. See you soon in Assen". (download HD photo )

Cristiano Migliorati (FMI Technical Coordinator)

"Morbidelli could have fought for the win, but things like that happen. I'm happy for his reaction during the race. Nocco was strong here during test, but struggled with his feeling on the bike. We were hoping for better results in Aragon, but we're ready to bounce back in Assen".
