Tommy stepped up onto podium in both races at Oulton Park, finishing top Ducati rider and scoring Moto Rapido’s best result of the year to date and the team’s first double podium.

Race 1

After showing his pace throughout the practice sessions and finishing Free Practice 3 at the top of the time sheets, Moto Rapido Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell lined up for a wet Race 1 on the front row in 2nd place. Tommy managed to take the lead on the opening lap and led the first half of the race before being passed by Jake Dixon. Dixon was able to pull a gap at the front and take the with Tommy finishing a strong 2nd place, with a comfortable gap of 10+ seconds over third-place finisher Leon Haslam.

Race 2

There was a quiet confidence going into race 2 despite qualifying a row back in fifth place. The track was now dry but Tommy had also shown his pace in dry conditions throughout the weekend. He maintained his position on the opening laps before going on to pass Michael Laverty (Tyco MBW Motorrad) and Jason O’Halloran (Honda Racing) before going on to take his 2nd podium of the weekend after finishing in 3rd behind Dixon and Haslam.

Tommy Bridewell (Moto Rapido Ducati #46) – Race 1, 2nd, Race 2, 3rd

“I’m not making any excuses but there’s still a little bit of me that’s still understanding the Ducati towards the end of the race so we’re still learning. But we’re top Ducati yet again and it just goes to show that with the right team, just what I can do.

I had confidence in the team and myself and we had pace in the wet and in the dry. It’s lovely to back it up in both conditions. Race 1, after Jake got away, I could just relax a bit, but in the second race I had to dig deep, really deep for it. But the bike was working absolutely spot on, Jake and Leon have just got a bit more momentum than me at the minute and there’s more at stake for them, so they have to ride a bit harder.”
