I’m pleased to report the boys continued their successful season at Thruxton last weekend.

After some on track scuffles with the current Superstock 1000cc champion, Josh Elliott at the last two rounds, Taylor rode an immaculate race to take his fourth win of the season.

Although only qualifying in 6th position due to some tyre issues, Tarran rode hard from the start to finish second in Saturday’s sprint race and then third in Sunday’s longer feature race.

I’ve been patiently waiting to get my season back on track after incidents at the previous two rounds.  I made a great start from third on the grid but had five strong riders to deal with throughout the race so it wasn’t the easiest win of the season.  My Buildbase BMW was rapid as always so I was in good shape on Thruxton’s 170mph straights.  It was close going over the line but I’d like to think I was in control over the closing laps.  Extending my championship lead was always the goal so I’m happy with my twenty three point advantage going into the second half of the season.

I knew Thruxton would be tough as it’s very difficult to break away due to the fast flowing nature of the circuit.  I lead both races but the bunch hunted me down so second and third was all I could manage at the chequered flag.  I couldn’t fault my WD40 Stauff Connect Academy Kawasaki but I didn’t want to push past the limit and risk a crash.  My solid weekend has rewarded me with the championship lead so I will do all I can now to stay in front.  It is the Brands Hatch GP circuit next where I won last year so I’m looking forward to heading there in two weeks time.
